Pot holes - God damn them!!

Mine's going in the garage tomorrow as a result of the bloomin' pot hole that started this thread, I have more than 10mm difference between the rears...... :x
Anyhow hopefully it will all be resolved tomorrow :)
 
Thought I had avoided any damage from the appallingly bad Glasgow roads until I took off the winter tyres today. Big feck off bulge on one of the sidewalls, undoubtedly caused by a pot hole. :headbang: The tyre has hardly been used as well.

I know the flyover - pretty narrow so you couldn't avoid much either :o

chiswick roundabout has some pretty annoying ones for cyclists too :!:

Which lane are they in, I go past that round about 2-3 times a week and fortunately not encountered them yet...

To be honest they probably wouldn't cause any problem for cars... approach from Kew bridge on the A205 and they are as you enter the roundabout. They have filled them in once but are now wearing away again :thumbsdown: pretty dangerous for those on two wheels though :o
 
Ahh the Chiswick roundabout, the only thing that used make it bearable was oggling the Lambo's when stuck in the inevitable jam.

Thinking about it was probably more years ago than I care to remember, I take it the showroom is no longer there.
 
dunno - where was it?

There is a huge Peugeot dealer right on the roundabout on the corner of the A406 (north circular) and A315 (Chiswick High road).

Pretty impressive Audi dealer on the A4 with multiple floors so you can see the cars from the elevated M4 on the way in mind :D

My mate stays just near the roundabout in Chiswick, I love passing the audi garage on the way back to the airport on the way home as it has all the 80s quattro rallye cars on the 4th floor :thumbsup:
 
So if I've hit a pothole pretty hard doing 60 and there are no visible signs of damage apart from a small tyre bulge which I'm not sure if it was there before, would you be getting it checked out for any hidden damage? Stealers have quoted £75 for a diagnostic check.
 
If there is a bulge in the sidewall then I would bin the tyre. If you're talking about the alignment being knocked out or suspension damage, I'd be inclined to see how the car drives before I handed over £75. If there's no discernible difference it's probably OK. £75 would go a long way towards a full realignment never mind a diagnostic check.
