Managed to get a pic of the motor into the body of the message but have been trying to post a pic on the avatar but even using photo bucket to reduce it still says it's too large.

Search for online jpg compression and you'll be good. If you crop the pic to square before you start most of the online tools will resize as a part of the compression.

It must be me but the posting photo's instruction don't bear any resemblance to what I see on the screen! I've opened a photobucket account and uploaded the photos onto that but from thereon in I'm stuffed! I can't seem to find anyway of converting the picture to a code, can anyone help? I gather after that I cut & paste the code onto the text box

WOW! Thats BIG fnarr fnarr! Well, I can post pics in messages, but what am i doing wrong when trying to post a photo in my signature? Anyone please?
 
You have two tags, one right after the other. Get rid of one so it reads. [img]http.....

Also your sig pic needs to be a certain size too I think. The ones you are trying to use are full size ones. Don't think they'll work.
 
Mmmmm! Ok, I've done what you said Carol. So what have I done wrong? If you look at my sig I have two examples. but I have reduced the image size in p/b.?????? Maybe if I bought a pair of Geeky glasses,or shout at the screen, would that help?

You had BBcode disabled (check box below the sig). I enabled it and corrected your tags. You should see how it should look when you edit your signature now :thumbsup:
