Helped organise a Z-Tour today, great to see so many different cars. Z3’s, E85’s, E89’s, G29’s, and I represented the E86’s. 16 cars in total. Great fun, superb cars, good weather. Another edition in a month or two

Finally got around to addressing the paint on project shoestring…. Looks very different to when it rolled off the trailer :D

Thanks John

If only my efforts to get the roof working perfectly we’re going as well as the polishing did :headbang:

Bought a good pump from Stuart and had issues getting the hydraulic lines connected sufficiently tightly, fluid leaking.

Tried cleaning everything and starting again…snap, bolt sheared off. Didn’t panic, Alan very kindly gave me a new set of bolts & washers. Tried to get the sheared part of the bolt out earlier - FAIL :headbang: :headbang:

Now have the old pump which works well in one direction but needs a push to get the roof to go down, and the new pump which has working internals but now has a buggered hydraulic port.

I’ve been working on cars for years, brakes, suspension, even head gaskets in the old days… never had something so simple go so wrong

I think I’m going to reinstall the old pump, and sell the pump I bought from Stuart for the electrical motor part. It’s not big money, I’m more annoyed with myself than anything
