Wanted to try out the new strut brace just fitted to the Zed so headed out to Eshott airfield and took some of the Northumberland back roads on the trip. . . .

Don't think the Zed's been this filthy before. . .

Not much activity at the field. . .



Look at the results of the muddy clarty roads. . .



Zed ended up more mucky than it looks on these photo - I was impressed!



Fun to be had amongst the muck though.

(Hard to tell if the strut brace made a difference - I would say the steering was slightly sharper on bends, felt like there was slightly more turn in than normal).

The back roads were a right laugh - covered in slime and clarts - was spinning up even on the straights. Not too clever for checking out the strut brace though

I don't tend to let my car get that dirty - the worst she's ever been is probably after the Skye run, but the red seems to look dull rather than dirty

Steph and I did a recce of next weekend's route; started at 10 this morning and didn't bother cleaning the Zed as I knew we'd be out in it. . . .



It's never, ever, looked as filthy as this before! Shouldn't take me too long to get it back to presentable before Feb 1st. . . .

I think a grubby car gets to a point where you kinda want to get it even dirtier for the full on rally-stage look. Not sure about with a zed though. Mine's a little mucky at the moment, I should take a pic...

It'll get dirty if you go on the Welsh run - sheep s**t splatters all over the front and no cleaning allowed on the runs

Mine this morning. The number plate and lights are only clean as you couldn't read the former, and I've been driving early in the dark. It's now very shiny again though 8)
