P.I.M.P.Y.

(does that count as off-road?)

Points deducted for not having the bike facing the correct way (driveside to camera), not having having the wheel logos aligned, and not having the tyre logos lining up with the wheel valves. You were doing so well with the crank arm and big-ring/small-cog ratio too...

not that heavy but a tight gap when you take it down with car still in there, it wasn't much and works a treat!!

Stopped riding years ago.

Then about 2 years ago I found this in a dump

I turned it into this

Bike3-1.jpg

Then that turned into this...

Then I found a blue ribble in the same dump and started road cycling. Sorry no pics of it.

But it led to this...

That was day of delivery. A few parts have changed since then.

Currently building a long travel hard tail and also have a Fuji classic single speed that I bought on a whim but have only used about twice. It's really hilly here.

Edit: interesting fact about the Specialized in the second pic. It's painted BMW sparkling graphite.

Nice selection Mowflow

What long-travel hardtail do you have in mind? And where's your local stomping ground? I grew up riding on Gleniffer Braes and the Old Kilpatricks but my local is now the hills/woods around Stirling. Although in a week I'm off to the Alps...

My fleet's constantly evolving it seems. Tried to reduce to 4 bikes but it didn't really work out

Bike #1: Glory DH

Bike #2: Lapierre Spicy

Bike #3: Cotic Roadrat

Bike #4: On-One 456 Summer Season (but decalled as a Genesis after a powdercoating...)

And the new addition to replace my Gary Fisher singlespeed - Bike #5: Cube AMS 29

Can't believe the number of people who live inside with their bikes!!

I like this idea. *thinks about modified patio doors for house so zed can live inside too* :)

Can't believe people throw lovely bikes away

Tapatalking...

I'm surprised I've only just seen this thread!

My garage:

My pride and joy, the very first Scott Ransom in the country

The other scott, now sadly stolen

The jump bike (with a broken seat)

And the runaround to the shops bike (as riding a £3k bike in manchester is not a good idea if you want to keep it!

Well done.... I have done the manchester to blackpool ride a good few times now, Its the only one of the charity style ones that I really enjoy!

Sadly didn't get to do it this year as I wrecked my ankle after flying out of a go-kart in April and haven't really got the strength for long distance back yet!

What time did you do it in ?

Well as long as you don't fly out of your Z4 that's the main thing! Hope you make a speedy recovery.

I cycled to the start from home, but official start to end was 3hrs 35 mins. A great ride but London-Brighton much better organised (bigger budget..)

Did the wiggle New Forest / Isle of Wight sportive yesterday. 68 miles, it never stopped raining!!!

Spent years just riding around the woods and moors around here (inverclyde area). When I took it up again I started going to glentress quite a bit and Nevis a few times. Since my son was born I never get away which led to me getting into road cycling more as it's just so much easier to jump on and go out for a few hours. Long work hours, too many other sporting commitments and not enough free time.

I sold the Meta as I just didn't feel I needed a full suss. It made thinGs too easy most of the time. Kind of why I want a long travel hard tail now. Regretted not getting an Mmmbop when they were going cheap but don't fancy the latest Ragleys so will probably be a 456 unless I something pops up on Bikeradar, pinkbike or singletrack. Got most of the parts for it now, just need to sort the frame and forks.

I like to keep the bikes constantly changing as I enjoy building them as much as riding them. There's something really satisfying about riding a bike you've built yourself over a shiny factory built job.

Anyone with a decent amount of bikes needs a Bike Room - can't use the garage as that's where the car lives 8)

I can see that happening with me gaining a road bike again: all my MTBing options involve a minimum 25min drive from the house. I've not ridden much around Inverclyde area apart from the Greenock Cut area a good few years ago (in the p*ssing wet funnily enough).

And +1 on the bike building - I love it. A lot of my bike stuff is 2nd hand from ebay/PinkBike/Singletrack classifieds.

Greenock cut is about 5 minutes from my house (I live in Gourock). It's a pretty boring ride. There are some good trails scattered around the area but as with most non purpose built rides they are all a bit short and unchallenging. The ferry to Dunoon is 10 seconds from the house and there are some decent forestry commission trails over their. They aren't graded runs though so never get listed as proper trail centres. It's my best nearby option.

Kids really cut your hobby time but it's worth it (most of the time  ).
