I too was a cynic. . . . and still am.

It's just a 'vehicle' for politicians and the likes to jump on and blow a load of smoke up our 4sses. . .

Same as any other week in Blighty then!

Money could have been better spent in communites, homeless, benefit fraud.

Just my opinion tho !

I wasn't bothered by the Olympics before they started, but I had a week off work for the first week they were on, and I became well and truly hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed the Olympics, and now it's over feel like there's a hole in my life during the evenings!

I managed to watch the Athletics live one evening and the organisation was superb - much better than the Daily Fail would have had you believe! Well done London, and well done Team GB!

I thought it was brilliant. Made me proud to be an ex Brit - even watching something as dull as the marathon was made enjoyable by the amazing images of the city setting.
The cost will soon be forgotten but some excellent facilities will remain. That mountain bike complex is impressive.

Even here in the wilds of south west Australia we had 8 channels of excellent HD coverage with people like Daley Thompson and Steve Ovett covering athletics.

Great couple of weeks- well done. :happyclap:
