Hi Guys,

I'm just about to change my pre-facelift bumper to a post facelift one and i have a couple of Q's if any of you could.

I am hoping it is going to be a bit of a like-for-like but i looked on realoem and there are a couple of bits i am not sure of.

Firstly, if i look on the grille on the facelift bumper, you have an open mesh region in the centre on the left and right there some areas where the grille is filled in below the fogs. there is a hole about 15mm in diameter in the filled in grille on each side below the fogs. what goes in there?

Also, if you look on the realoem image,

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BU52&mospid=49303&btnr=51_5929&hg=51&fg=15

part #3 is this just a blanking plate if there are no fogs?

Has anyone done this? any useful comments? i'll be bashing the bumper removal guide as this is hopefully this weekends project depending on how the fog light project goes but i'll do a separate write up on that little gem once done.....

Cheers

Hi Greeno,

From memory I think that this is a hole for a torx screw to hold the foglight in place?

Maybe im talking nonsense but I seem to recall there was a fixing there?

Looking forward to seeing it fitted to the car :D

And part no3 I beleive is a blanking plate.. I think Stigj has them on his red coupe from memory.

Cheers JDM

Yup, that all makes sense now. That torx bolt is the level adjuster on the fog.

It'll be nice to get the old one off as it has some battle scars thanks to some little scum bag plus the new one is filling my spare room at the mo.

Due to the challenge of getting hold of reasonable second hand fogs I've undertaken a bit of a project which might work or might not.....!

Once It's done I'll get some photos up for a forum critique....
