So I got mine back from its inaugural detailing session and I wanted to share the results. I'm really pleased with it: previously she was a dull, almost grey colour. Now she gleams like a mirror!!

Very smart Ben, shiny black paintwork on a zed, in the sun, yum. I've been looking at changing my wheels but the mv2s look great when clean, just a big pita to get to in between the spokes. What's with the whip :poke: :D

Nice pics, paintwork looks very crisp. What did you have done and did you do it yourself?

Love how your rocking the hard top in the sun...should have bought a coupe! :poke:

Granted, the 'whip' has come off replaced by a stubby. I had a feeling someone would mention it! Thanks Montjeu ;-)

I got this done as we're off to Italy on a driving tour. So the hardtop will come off (I just wanted it all done in one go).

Ben

Very shiny

That hard top is curious looking - where do you get it ? The only non-OEM one I have seen was a design by a company in France... Can't find a link right now, but I thought was only ever a concept and never made it to production :?

Oops, missed that

That is the one I was talking about though

I sent it in to a pro as I didn't have the time or means to do a good job myself, plus as a 7 yr old car the paint was in a bad state and simply polishing it to death would have made things a lot worse.

This was a 'correction Detail in PA Cosmic & topped in Centurion' - so basically a triple stage cutting, then 2 polishing topped off with a ceramic coating. It really needed it.

Not sure if you can access this album of the car from the guys Facebook page but give it a go

Oh and yes Bing, that's the D Moris top. I drove over to France to collect it in person. It makes an enormous difference over the standard hardtop which I also had. That rear view window makes the interior very light and the rear side windows (aka the kinked window) means you can actually see when reversing out of spaces and/or pulling out from T junctions!
