If it is the same sort of layout as the Z4M then it is best to remove the exhaust at the end of the down pipes, and lower the whole thing then cut the bolts off with a grinder the O2 sensor is above the mid section so between the exhaust pipe and the car floor pan/skin so hard to get at while on the car.

Best way is to remove at the down pipes and deal with it from there, on the floor or bench, replacing all rusty bolts on rebuild
 
There are a number of Bosch type sensors including generic ones where you cut and reattach the wires. I paid a lot more for my own sensors from autodoc so perhaps you were looking at one of the generic ones.
 
Think you will find that is the generic one where a shorter lead is attached and you then join that with the lead at the top of the engine. The kit in your photo seems to verify this . The OEM one comes complete but costs about twice that.
 
It's their problem and they should cover the cost. If they lose money on the job then they need to take it on the chin. Customer satisfaction and the power of the Internet is a very useful tool.
