Step-daughter owns her own swimming pool, used for teaching kids to swim etc.
Has 3 dehumidifiers in it (approx £2500 each). Only 2 years old and 2 of them have failed due to a faulty batch of compressors.
Out of warranty, but insurance have helped out with a bigger new one which can cope on it's own.
In the meantime she kicked up a fuss and the original supplier has sent out two new compressors. One gets rebuilt and kept as a spare.
Due to me gaining my pool plant operator's licence and basically maintaining the pool for her for nothing more than the odd bottle of whisky, she has just offered me the second repaired dehumidifier to put in my garage (for nowt!). It will shift up to 5 litres of water per hour and also has a heater. All controlled by a unit which you can use to set the desired humidity and the temperature.
All I need to do is put up a shelf that'll support 90Kgs!
As an added bonus, I can tap off the extracted water for the windscreen washer, iron etc.
Happy me and a happy Z
