Possible vanos issue?

I have the symptoms of higher fuel consumption and lower power. Is there any other ways to find if vanos is the problem before i perform surgery on this engine?

I performed the Vanos repair last year. I had no codes or diagnostic callouts.

It is not a hard job. It just takes four or five hours to do.

was there a difference in the power? how many km's did u have on the clock when u performed it?

The problem I noticed was between 2500 and 3500 rpm. A stuttering/loss of power...
I had 50K+ miles on the odometer.

Those procedures in the link are very, very good. I used them to fix mine...
