Possible sale of my Z4

Hi all,
I am thinking of selling my Z4 e85 2.5. manual.
The reg number is YP03 VXD for those that want to check the spec etc. It is silver with Alpina alloys and matching hardtop.
It has clear lights, stubby etc also all the standard parts.IMG_20191201_142715.jpg
I have had it for 5 years and don't use it as much as I should. The weather is hopeless, I don't take it out in the rain! In my ownership it has only got wet when I have washed it.
It is currently on only 29k miles. I took my time when I bought it to make sure I had what i consider a great car.
It doesn't have electric seats etc but getting the best car possible was my aim, not equipment levels etc.
It has full history, all BMW before myself. I have serviced it every year with high quality oils even though I do less than a thousand miles in a year.
I am after a car I can use all year hence the sale.
Any ideas on price would be appreciated, one's with this mileage in this condition don't come up often, I know I have looked.
Many thanks Steve

Pictures of the engine bay and interior are always welcome, also one with the hard top in place. 5 previous owners, MOT history is very good, and no accidents. No description of the bodywork, you might want to add that. The hard top and wheels may be worth around £2000. People will pay extra for low mileage, others will disagree! I would ask for £6000

Many thanks Raymond, the hardtop is on the stand in my summer house!!
If I were to advertise it, I would take the necessary pics.
Still not decided, I like the car, it goes well and drives without fault as you would expect with 29k miles.
Th e bodywork is excellent imo for a 21 year old car, there are a couple of touched in stone chips and a couple of car park dings that I will probably deal with before I sell, if I sell! Paintless dent removal would sort it.

This is almost universally true, except you wouldn’t think so from comments on recent “for sale” threads. Give it a week on the forum, then be prepared to splash out on an A/T advert and you’ll sell it in no time.

Same as mine but I have 94k on the clock and non standard leather seats and matching door cards. Other than a few paint blemishes its in remarkable condition engine is oiltight and roof motor has been relocated to the boot. Exhaust down pipe studs have been changed to stainless bolts and stainless brake line flexi hoses fitted all round. I wouldn't let it go for less than 3.5k if I was going to sell it, not sure I would get that, its a buyers market out there. Best of luck with the sale if you pull the trigger.

Sell the wheels and hard top separately, they won’t add anything like how much they are worth to the value of the car. Buy a set of 107’s or 108’s for it for about £300 and you’ll be quids in.

This is solid advice

There are limits, though.

Asking more for low mileage, excellent condition and service provenance is one thing; being deluded is completely another.

I would agree with the above at £5-6k if it is as good as it sounds, but may take a while. :)

It's not, though, when it comes to value. Yours may be the very best 2.5 out there, with all the whistles and bells; maintained to the highest standards but the 94k will make it worth quite a bit less than a 29k example. Which is correct IMO.

Cheers everyone, I don't know what to do?! I love it but the weather is so crap etc etc.

Once it stops raining for a week you will have another problem, a hose pipe ban so you can’t wash it

Paddy is right (excuse the pun). If you sell I’m sure you will regret it. Finding good second hand cars can be a nightmare. You know this car and its condition. Whatever else you replaced it with would be a gamble. However, if you decide to sell I’m sure there will be plenty of interest. As long as you price it sensibly.

We have our roof down all the time over 3 degrees as long as it isn’t raining, if it does, roof goes up then down when it stops. We are out in it most afternoons throughout the year. Just wrap up, heating on and enjoy, they are great little cars. Life’s too short. Of course the problem is that when you have a low mileage, pristine car you want to keep it that way.

You want a car you can use all year round…? You’ve got it, it’s pictured here…

With respect it’s not a high value car in monetary terms, what it is is a probably a car with a very clean underneath that just needs some protection then just use it, you know it, it’s got no issues, you like it, no point laying in your coffin twiddling your thumbs thinking ‘Should’ve used the Zed more, perhaps bit too late now’ I used to have this affliction but not now after pretty nasty heart issues, I look after the cars but they get used, a lot..!

It’s a car, not an appreciating fine china vase… :driving:
