Possible names for new TopGear presenters?

I'll follow the 3 where ever they go next, it worked well, i'd be suprised if the bbc launch 3 new presenters for Top Gear

Well it never will be the same show without the 3 original presenters

Yeah I miss Angela Rippon, Tom Coyne and Barrie Gill too...

Times change... Whilst I enjoyed it - I think the Clarkson/May/Hammond format had run its course.

I am both interested to see what the BBC do with Top Gear next AND what the three presenters will get up to next.

Janice Hadlow the BBC 2 controller said on radio 4 the other day that Top Gear would carry on, she said it 'was an exciting new era' for the show when asked who would be presenting, but obviously stopped short of naming or suggesting anyone.

Topgear in the three blokes arsing around format that did so we'll here and abroad died when Clarkson, May and Hammond left. This won't be lost on any new presenter and I doubt it will pull the numbers and be the commercial success it was. One series tops before being mothballed.

On the other hand any Channel that takes on the original team will be rubbing the hands with glee while counting the cash!

I always groaned but watched it when it was on. I still watch the repeats as they still better than a lot of stuff on the telly. However, I am not emotionally attached to the three presenters. Mays spin off was not bad but Hammonds was tripe.

I don't see why three new presenters will not do a good job and as for the last three old ones, happy overdue retirement.

Oh yes, viewers are a fickle bunch.

But wasn't we all saying it had got a bit rubbish anyway?

I think 3 new presenters going it in a different format may work..

Jodie Kidd is good on the eye but a crap presenter, glenister is just a lovey darling actor.. He is crap in the other car program he presents so can't see any improvement..

Guy martin is interesting... He has a genuine love for all things mechanical and is likeable..but I do t think he would tie himself into TG..

We need a ex F1 or racing driver to give believable reports on car handling and stuff.

A woman presenter is not needed..

What's all this with Jodie Kidd recently? I watched that new show with her and Quentin.. it was CRINGEworthy - she's awful. Guy Martin? Great guy, i don't think (and i hope) Top Gear isn't his thing, though he would be the best of the suggested threesome.

Looking forward to what Clarkson/Hammond/May pull off with Netflix ;D

...and please, for the love of God, can we all just be generally happy that whatever happens, it's one additional show about cars on the telly. Surely that's better than [INSERT REALITY TV FORMAT or ANYTHING FROM CHANNEL 5 HERE], right?!

Not sure why as a nation we whine and bitch* about it not being this or that; it's too serious/it's not serious enough. Just enjoy it for what it is; car related infotainment :headbang:

*totally agree on the Jodie Kidd thing though. She is shockingly bad as a presenter!

Exactly my thoughts. I thought the show lost its way a bit in some recent episodes but it still beat, hands down, any other TV series I can think of. I bet the Top Gear haters signed the petitions to bring back "Heartbeat" and to "free Deirdre" :poke:
