Appologies for whoring this across two threads but i hardly ever browse the problem section and presume others do the same.....

My zed is losing coolant, filled up last tuesday when prompted to check by the warning light, warning light on again this morning, checked and float is now at low level for coolant tank, checked under oil filler cap and plenty of yellow crap, I'm absolutely gutted but will have to sort this so this is where you guys restore my faith and point me in the right direction........

1. has anyone had any experience of head gasket leaks on the z, searched and all i could find was this (where I have also posted) http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3851
I'd like to know any realistic costs, no speculative scaremongering please!

2. going to need to know a good independent dealer in the north west, preferably near cumbria, please reccomend away

3. would this be covered by a 3rd part extended warranty eg tesco, I haven't got one at the moment but no prizes for guessing what I'm thinking!

Cheers

Explained why I Posted in both threads above, it is linked to other thread and I'm not the 1st person to do this.

Happy for this thread to be deleted if a moderater could oblige Other thread could do with renaming though to make the problems pages more useful, ie easier to search if threads titles reffer to the problem discussed.

bjorno - I am a mod? I can lock or delete the thread as you wish. For now I have just editted your link as the 'h' of http was outside of the link string so did not work.

Not sure what you mean about renaming the other thread? Any search with 'head gasket' will find the string in the text or title and you can jump direct to it.

Fair doo's cheers

Just going on the boxter and RX8 forums I looked on quite a bit when I was looking to buy (was quite the forum stalker for about 3 months lol), their mods tend to rename and group common problems/solutions so they're useful for reference, maybe the searches aren't as good? Or maybe they just have more problems to worry about :fuelfire:

Yes - the Problems and on another side How To's could do with some more organisation as they grow in number and can be a valuable resource.

IMHO x5world has a great way of doing it, grouping all sorts of frequently sough info by categories, but it's a huge site where the volume justifies it and such takes a lot of time to do.
