Possible CDV Valve issue?

Hi,

I am finding my E85 really annoying when changing gear from 1st to second and upon reading have seen that the CDV valve can be removed.

I also notice that if taking it to 6k revs and changing to 2nd their is a slight pause then it picks up and accelerates again. It is in sport mode so is it me pressing the accelerator too hard and it takes a split second to pick up? The pause is very noticable and i'm not saying your going to floor it all the time and change to second but i've never noticed this in other cars i've driven.

If I change a little earlier say at 5k revs and floor it and change to second it feels ok and picks up straight away?

I am thinking of getting the CDV removed anyway but wondered if this problem is due to that or it may be something else maybe?

1st gear is a rolling gear...don't take it more than 3-4000 revs, on the old torque curve/speed graph 1st is a waste of time after these revs. Change up between 3 and 4 then boot it in the rest. You will notice a difference. revving the tits off it in 1st gives no gain and always makes for a rough change unless you can balance road speed and engine speed.

If changing under hard acceleration level the speed just before the change, as the car keep accelerating due to physics, you then stand a better chance of matching engine and road speed which equals smoother changes.

CDV is a pain in the bum just slow your gear change down and try to match engine and road speed.

This technique is smooth whatever car your in....except auto obviously and doesn't cost less than tenths of a second to use, better for the car mechanicaly as well.

Yeah it's only occasionally you want to floor it in first, was just trying the start to 60 from a standstill and just thought your going to want to take it to the max before changing to second gear.
