Evening all,

Long time lurker, first time poster :D

I'm looking at this Alpina and was interested in your opinions:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3088843.htm

I currently own a 2.0 08 z4, love it to bits - but I could learn to love this Alpina too!

Any help, advice or insights greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

M.

Stop!!!!!

Alpina multi-owner here.

Have viewed the car, as has BIGSCREEN. It's not good. Car is build #258

No running in service
Poor bodywork
Needs new brakes all round
Wheels are rubbishly refurbed - needs another go
Dodgy badging
Needs I2 now
Will accept £13k....we know , but still too high
Seller is a d!ck
Drives well, though
Avoid

Try the sterling grey private sale instead in Lincs. Nice car if high miles. Worth £12.5k. Ask me for info if interested.

Oh, the Alpina Z4 Roadster S experience is quite, er, amazing. Talk to me if you want more info......esp the potential pitfalls...and join the Alpina Register

Thanks.

Big disappointment as it was exactly what I'm looking for regards interior / exterior.

Have to keep looking I suppose...

Cheers for the heads up and saving me the time/petrol

Sorry.

We travelled from westest Wales to view it (and others). It was £15k then...and he'd accept £13k. Seen ours? Ten times the car...and we paid less.

The sterling grey with black leather one is lovely, with a few issues that could be fixed to make a very nice car. There is a nice blue one in Bridgnorth too, I think, but not viewed it. Sytner have one in Notts.....worth around £15k with a 1 year AUC warranty.

If there is anything you want to know about the Roadster S, just shout.

Ade

Thanks 2alps.

Ideally I'd like your #168 :D

Red and black is the best combo by far,I'll keep looking and update the thread as I find any that take my fancy.

I was considering a new e89 but I still like the 'old' shape roadster the best,I think the Alpina is the best zed ever. :fuelfire:

I'll keep looking!

Thanks. And you're welcome. Always happy to share advice.

Oh, and value. Glyn bought this year, as did Bigscreen as did we. We can tell you how much they're 'worth'.

Beware hi-milers, irrelevant of service history. Anything above 80k can have headgasket issues - very, very expensive, so ask questions; though some last much longer. Try one....you'll fall in love and WANT one. You're always welcome to take a peek if ever in the area :D

Thanks fluxco but wrong colour scheme for me I'm afraid. Looks lovely though

2alps, I'm in the North East - not too far from Durham, we don't get too many Alpinas round here so I'll be using the forum to see what people think as i unearth more examples.

Cheers.

Love Durham 8) And Alpina blue is lush  Fluxco, what build # are you?

Loads of Alpinas in Scotland (Aberdeen is a hot-bed), a few in Hartlepool and down in Scunny. Not many Roadster S's though....I'll have a think to see if any pop into my head. Fancy a weekend break in sunny in West Wales? But you can't take her home..... :driving:

Ask if any register cars come up  If you join the alpina register forum, you can ask if anyone has one for sale :)

Hi All,

I'm another one on the trail of Roadster purchase. Bought one new once upon a time and looking to return. If anyone knows of some good ones coming up I'd be keen to know. I have a lump sum coming in Mar 12 so purchase b4 then will have to be financed - so prob looking at a trader.

Cheers!

Good luck in your search, you will not be disapointed :D

Just get a good one, or it'll hurt....ask questions. We're here to help and advise. I just helped a new owner find an absolute beauty. They are out there, as are some ropy ones like #258 mentioned at the start of this thread

OK will do - thanks. Have you seen the one on ebay at 15850? Write-up looks good but I'm aware of the one that sold at the weekend for circa 12K. So this now looks very over priced....

I know who bought the £12k Alpina Blue one...guess who I helped out? It's a beauty, but the last owner was desperate to sell. New owner is on the Alpina Register as a newbie - he collects on Saturday...lucky boy

That one on ebay is well overpriced - at least 2.5k. Nice, but over. Mine has done 46k, black lux with red hide, and is totally mint - if it was worth that much I'd consider selling it  And tracker is non-transferrable - what he says about it is bull$hit. The unit needs activating (at £149pa cost) by the new owner however long the current activation has to go. I found out the hard way with one...don't make assumptions was my lesson! :o Watch his oil change from 0W30 to 10W60, too. I'd want to know why :!:

For nearly £1k less, you could always look at this one:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3373836.htm
Even Sytner are undercutting him:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3211924.htm
