Ok,

I have managed to take off the housing on the windscreen,and disconnected the wire to the sensor just for now ...simples

On re-assembling,(feeling pretty pleased with myself) decided to go for a spin.....

F*^cking things are still coming on !!!!

could this now be a lever/arm problem?
