So, my new (replacement) Z4 can operate the roof while driving up to 20ish mph.

Today, I opened the roof to go into town as it was sort of sunny. Not far from home is a nice straight level bit of road that was going around 20mph....so I pressed the button and closed the roof!

I didn't actually want to close the roof, I just wanted to test it out whilst on the move. At one point my speed must've gone over the limit, cos it stopped, but I slowed down and it continued.

Then all I could think was the guy in the car behind must've (hopefully) thought - cool! Cos I reckon it looked quite cool to see. either that or his thoughts were more personally aimed at me?

So I've spent all afternoon washing Debs 1'er and the Z4 and both looking nice now (apart from the tar spots). Used bilberry in a stronger dilution to clean the 1'er wheels cos they havent been done for months...worked a treat!

Well not much really...only 6 months in between (collected original end of March 12 and this one beginning of Oct 12).

Main difference is this one doesn't appear to leak!!!!!

I think the only real difference is the roof mechanism - they uprated the roof motors and now allow it to be operated whilst moving up to a certain speed, about 20mph. The old one only worked whilst stationary.

I wasn't allowed to change the spec, so it is exactly the same, but I am convinced the gear knob material is different in some way...but thats getting picky!

My detailed who detailed both cars 1 day after delivery was convinced the paintwork was better on this one (less orange peel).

Also got the 2013 maps and need to check them ... what where the issues with the 2012 one...duplicate city's wasn't it?

Also in the boot there is now some netting that covers the gap when you pull the flap forward so you can open the roof.
