DrakeZZ, it is difficult to explain the clay bar experience. For me, it is tactile and intimate. When the process is done properly the finish no longer feels like paint on sheet metal, it has a velvety, soft, almost supple feel to it.
Somewhat O.T. but is there a reason that you alternate coats of Z5 and Z2? I always thought you should build up coats of Z5 then layer on coats of Z2. BTW I always struggle with Z5, it seems to come out blotchy. Z2 however always brings up a deep even shine.
Z5pro has less optical clarity than Z2pro and Z5pro has more "fillers" which enables its scratch hiding capability, Z2pro has none of these. I have found, especially on a darker color paint that alternating adds more depth. Using a PorterCable correctly will apply either one evenly. Applying thin and even amounts plus allowing the protectant the correct time to cure should eliminate hazy or blotchyness.
btw, I did the same to my wife's care and went to work on Monday unable to hold a pen very well.... Using an orbital then the DA give the hands and arms a real workout.
