Sorry I gave bum info, it is a 1977 Carrera 3.0 Sport, it was resprayed in Tahoe Blue before I acquired it and is still that colour, I didn't own it when the photo shoot was done but the current owner contacted me as he was putting together a dossier on the history of the car, it is quite a comprehensive history as well, one of Roger Clark's sons (Oliver?) is quoted as saying he remembers getting locked in the car for some hours and weeing over what was then the tarten coloured seats (he was 4 then) but remembers the event.

Just sold a boxster and bought a z4 e89 3.0I. I No comparison!
Porsche very basic and no innovation.
Every thing a costly extra. Will never buy another!
The bmw has style and purpose and a much better drive.
Take it from me I've owned both. Bmw/bmw /bmw!

I went from 2003 E85 roadster to 2002 996C4S coupe this time last year. The Porsche is a better car in every way ( for me) . It is massively more expensive to run, has it's foibles, but that's part of the character. The interior feels much older then the Z, the seats are much better, the performance is in another league altogether, it drinks more fuel, road tax is the same, servicing not bad but annual instead of bi annual. Tyres are huuge, so rears are expensive, and there's somewhere to put my dog!! Would I go back to a Z, yes, If I get bored of the 911,or it threatens to bankrupt me ( more likely) , I'd drop into a 3.0 E89 happily. A lot of love for both cars.

Have access to both and have spoke about it to death. If I could afford it, I would have the 911 no questions asked.Just a better car but the Z4M is a bargain performer, they are very similar performance wise, the 911 has cost less to run and is a better drivers car. In a straight line there is no difference until your well over the limit.

Really? Which country would that be in? 25% off list is a lot for a new "desirable" car? Does that include the coupe too?

They are currently selling preowned for good reductions. Went to look at a brand new one with my dad as a replacement for the 911, this was a demonstrator fully loaded had 800 miles on it V8s and it was 62k.

Frightening as its list was over 85k and it was 2 months old. Imagine how much they will depreciate in a 2 year period. Unless they just misjudged the market and this is more the ballpark.

Direct sales, so I guess it bypasses the dealer network.

Not sure how that works with warranty as I thought year 3 was dealer based. As said, I am not interested so did not follow up with any questions.
