Got a great Xmas pressie from my best mate last year which saw me at Elvington yesterday with 6th gear experience, having 4 laps in a 911 turbo & a hot lap in an Aston V8. Had a cracking time, although it was over far too quickly of course.
The instructor was great, urging me on, even though at one point I seemed to be heading into a double apex 180 degree right hander at over 80mph. It took me the first lap to get used to the sequential box & the turbo lag, and then I gradually got faster. 4 laps definitely not enough though. Final score from the instructor: 89/100 "A great smooth drive". I do get the feeling that "smooth" is instructor-speak for "slow" though
I have a feeling I might be back, as they have a couple of tasty looking Lambos & Fezzas
