Porsche 718....

....so my 981 Boxster S went in to the dealership for some minor work - one alloy refurbed in slightly different colour and a blocked windscreen nozzle.....

And they gave me this. A 2.0 718, and it shifts and the delivery is immediate!! Great interior but awful colour and why would a Mayfair dealer put a private plate on it!!!

4cyl... turbo... softtop....So they've finally produced a direct replacement for the 968 Turbo Cabriolet? :P
 
Immediate delivery and the sound is good!! Would be better if it had the sports exhaust.

Bloody great to drive and looks good but not worth the £60,000
 
Loving this car more and more, not the colour though. What an amazing Nav system. Comes with a SIM card and Wi Fi, Google Maps etc

Yes a little. I can put a SIM card in mine but just as a phone not Google etc, the visuals are different too. This has Apple Play etc too and takes two SD cards

Are we all experts or layman?

Yes for sure I knew about the 4 cylinder engine and the sound and I love the V6. But this doesn't sound too bad. And what's to complain about with a 0-60 of 4.7 secs with a PDK and Chrono Pack like the one I have.

Any other better suggestions for a sports car apart from my 981 3.4S? I'm tempted to change now

If you didn't know it was a flat six that's probably why you don't care it's now a four pot.

The new one sounds awful compared to the sixes and when you can't use much of the performance a lot of the time due to traffic, sound is one thing you can enjoy (if you have it).
 
So it sounds awful, it is a turbo, it has 2 pots missing..... what has Porsche done!!!

Poor reviews huh?

Who could even think of getting one of these!

ME- on order, Cayman 718 S PDK in lava orange ETA end of this month :D , oh yeah it sounds awful, awful enough for me to buy one with a sports exhaust.

I know sweet FA about Porsches but that looks nice and I love the colour :thumbsup:
 
It does look fab and love the colour but I'm really unsure if I had the money I would buy one over my M140i considering it doesn't have any real performance advantage and the extra it costs oh and ummm lacking cylinders :D . Might be different if I drove one though :?
