Over the bank holiday I was fixing my drivers door, I thought the bowden cable had snapped but turns out the outer door handle is at fault. Seems a really poor design, as the mechanism is plastic pushing a metal cam that then pulls the cable. Although mine is 7 years old the 1 of the 2 plastic tabs that push on the metal cam have snapped so the cable isn't pulled up enough to release the lock. This seems a really crappy design and was bound to fail on the drivers side, looks like I'll have to buy a new one but I'll be sending the broken one to BMW and ask their opinion. Doubt I'll hear anything but this is the first thing that has spoilt my z4 ownership. Sods law my mot is due soon so hopefully there are handles in the uk!
