Pollen/Cabin Filter. Aftermarket Or OEM

For what its worth I would hazard a guess that its just as good as the OEM seeing as it lists at £41.82. I will probably replace mine with one, but it will be interesting to see if anyone on here has tried the Crossland one and how they got on with it :)

I'm considering trying the Crosland unit, its only a tenner with free delivery & not the end of the world if its :censored: I would prefer OEM but its only a pollen filter, what benefit does the OEM have over the clear unit as Silverfox said?
 
Just been searching the web.... MANN filters make BMW units?

Air filter pic found (not pollen) but I wonder if they are the same manufacturer spec.

no idea why other than the carbon particles probably proved a larger surface area to adsorb contaminants than a standard paper one???

Yes I think they the same.
 
Pretty sure I took the Crosland one. The more expensive of the pair as that will be the carbon one. I don't think it was quite the perfect fit but that might just be how the install goes. I wouldn't buy Crosland for oil or air filters but I can't see there being any issues for a cabin filter. Not £10s worth for the MANN anyway.
 
Well I went for the Crosland filter.....
As it turns out mine didn't need changing as it was relatively clean, but swopped it out anyway as wasn't the carbon type.

The Crosland filter was slightly bigger than the OEM one but fitted in the slot just fine... :thumbsup:
