17''s with NASCAR style tyres

I like that, a lot. You'll use a whole bottle of tyre shine every time you wash the car though :D

Love the CSL wheels, but they whisper to every kerb you pass "Kiss me ..."

Love the nascar style, any idea what profile the tyres are on the 17s?

Voted 19s, as they look more car show stylee, but I still have 18s :(

Those are ARC-8 17" wheels in 17x9.5" ET35 square with a 255/40/17 Nitto NT01 tyre apparently.

It's tempting isn't it. Tyre prices would fall like a stone too!

But that car has aftermarket brakes & calipers, maybe that makes them smaller :?

To late to vote but I'd go for the 20", there is a red E89 on here with them fitted and it looks fantastic, ride will be something else though :o

Based on looks.

Drive is generally accepted to be worse the larger you go on sport suspension.

I've been driving with 19" on for about a month now and I honestly can't tell the difference between them and my old 18". Admittedly I swerve around the slightest hole now!
I think the 19" wheels look more aggressive but I really don't like how low profile the tyres are, in some photos I've taken it looks as if there's no tyre on at all.

I prefer the look of my CSLs but the ride is certainly compromised on UK roads compared with the OEM wheels. There's no improvement in performance with 19s and tyres are more expensive so I keep my 18s for the track.

Perhaps a few comparison shots of the same wheels (different sizes) on a car may help us decide :poke:

Because its about looks then that would skew the results if you didnt like the style if wheel chosen as the example though right? :poke:

18" OEM wheels (this photograph pre-dates the 15mm spacers I now use with these wheels):

19" CSL wheels:

So, do you prefer rain or sunshine? :P
