Surprised at how few red cars forumites own, Black/Silver/Grey/Blue are miles out in front as they have so many different variables, but I would still have expected red to have had far more owners than white :?

Titanium silver here, the lighter colours seem to pick out the bodywork contours better IMO 8)

The first time I saw the Z4 I thought it looked great in silver and black. To be honest there's not really a colour that doesn't suit it except green?

Silver/grey is a low maintenance colour as well so you get the added bonus of less visible swirls and scratches.

Wonder what colours it would also have suited? Yellow? Bright blue? Orange? Need a photoshopper to give us a few mock ups. :)

Don't think red was exclusive to M cars. There was a red available(no extra cost) in Europe for the standard Z4. It might have been a lighter shade than the Imola red of the 'M's?

That would be bright red, also known as hellrott (German) my previous Z was that colour StevesZ328002.jpg

I have recently bought an Imola red Z4MC, was originally thinking it had to be sapphire black but if you`re going to have a mental car you may as well have it in a stand out colour. The thing is, with Imola red it only looks at its best when cleaned and polished otherwise, like any colour, it darkens it. It`s surprising to see how the colour actually changes in different lights, I think that`s one of the benefits of the flame surfacing in the original design.

Mines stratus............. Can t remember if thats strstus grey or stratus silver ?

Right you are. I really wanted Imola but didn't want to pay the extra 15K for the M. Second choice was dark blue but SWMBO wanted red so this happened.

SWMBO says it makes me look 15 years younger, more intelligent, and proves I'm malleable. I don't know what 'malleable' means exactly but she says it's a compliment. :idunno:

Stratusgrey with a Pearlgrey leather interior.

Interestingly colour preference does seem to vary according lo location. I bought mine in central Germany and most for sale and the ones I see are black or sterling grey, silver less.

It probably means you bear more than a passing resemblance to Timmy Mallett at a guess?

Ooooooohhhh, had to research that one. From looking at his photo on Wikipedia, I'm hugely relieved...he looks much shorter than I.
