Thanks! Can I ask why (just so I understand)? My fronts are 225/45/17 105 style, and rears are 255/40/17 105's. Are your wider or am I missing something obvious :)

If they stick out further, will it be much, and is that an issue with safety etc?

You have staggered set up, however for winters you don't want the wider rears as its better to have a smaller footprint.

Ok - so if I where to puts your on, would I need to do anything special, or will they just go on ok? You say they will stick out on the rear a bit wider than my summer tyres?
 
The standard offset on the e85 is ET46 and the e89 is ET29, so they wil stick out 17mm more than your current wheels. The MOT requirement is that they don't protrude from the body.

17mm should be ok - I have 20mm spacers on my 108s and they are die. Others have put 25mm spacers on with no issues. You'll probably like the look so much you won't want to take them off :D
 
Just out of curiosity are your winter tyres runflats too ?
Think you should sell the BBS wheels as i might know someone who might be interested in them :wink:

Both sets are conventional tyres and as fin has just said make me an offer :D

:rofl: ha ha - if you guys are saying ET29 would be fine (albeit stick out extra 1.7mm) then that changes things and I'll do some research to see if they will look ok, but I have no dosh at the moment!! ....What do the alloys look like/style?

it will have it pre delivery :cry: they all have :oops: .
the worst example i had needed 2 new front wings,new tailgate & repainted roof,bonnet & rear arches .
at just under 4 years old & 60k miles . all free under warranty but when i went to collect from the approved paintshop in Bolton the guy there said they do new unregistered cars that have been in compounds . all models including the 70k SL's :( needless to say that was my last one
no faults mechanically though & soaked up the miles with ease
 
I thought Mercedes had the paint quality problems licked a few years ago?

wouldn't worry . my dad has a 2008 mercedes & no issues whatsoever . my own personal opinion based on 16 cars in 22 years is VW has the best quality paint of any car . followed by lexus then BMW :wink: not scientific . just personal
