I read a long time ago that whilst some police forces apply a speed limit plus tolerance, others do not. IIRC Avon police operated a no tolerance policy, so if you were caught doing 75 in a 70 limit, you were going to get points. As an earlier post said, which part of 70 mph limit don't you understand; i.e. is it "70 mph" and/or "limit".

If you want to know how fast you're really going, then get a decent sat nav. If you choose to go over the limit, then expect the police to react.

I think you mean speedos will always over read. When it indicates you're doing 70 you're actually doing 67 -70
The other way would give cause to hold manufacturers to blame which never happens and to over read flatters drivers and also build in a safety margin

Yep thats what I meant, just wrote it the wrong way round

Makes sense - I think most manufacturers want you to think their product is faster than it really is. :lol: But some more than others!
