Police sunglasses on fleabay-

andysat

Lifer
Hi all-following on from the sunglasses thread-where I mentioned that I have recently lost mine  -so I have been looking at Police ones on fleabay but they are coming in around the £10 -£15 mark-surely these cannot be genuine?-how do you know they are?-thanks :)

Masses of fakes of all brands on the bay.
My wife has even bought optical frames claiming to be branded and her optician identified them as fakes (good ones).
You really have to buy from a franchised dealer to avoid fakes and therefore expect ..............top dollar!

My daughter had some Ray Bans on all last summer, really suited her, i thought they were genuine, it wasn't until the other week when I found out they were copies, the lenses were just tinted plastic and I doubt offered her any protection, that's the problem

I can buy them for you and sell them to you for 100 quid if it'll make you feel they are genuine. :D

there's probably a few watches on ebay that may require clse examination too.

I will take them! :)

Done.

I have a cousin in africa who owes me money. Send him £200 and I will send your glasses plus 150 back... :P

I'd only ever buy branded stuff off eBay from proper shop type sellers.

EBay are too busy criminalising honest users rather than try to ban everyone from selling dodgy.gear.

Her in doors agrees with this. Some people seem to get away with it. Always check the feedback including cryptic comments. If you tell them they are fake (after genuine worries)... and they offer money back then................ they are...

A mate bought a brettling watch from eBay, paid about £200 for one that should be 1000s. Anyway he took it to get valued to a proper fancy jewellers and asked if it was fake. As expected it was but the dealer was really interested in it. It had a box/papers/the lot. The jeweller questioned him loads about where he got it etc and said it was one of the best fakes he'd seen. The movement was a decent Swiss one and although a "replica" he valued it at 400-500 quid. And offered my mate 350 on the spot.

Not all fakes are totally s**t :) but for glasses I wouldn't take the chance unless your sure the seller is genuine. Some are

More likely to find the jeweller if part of a chain keeping it and calling the OEM manufacturer and police these days.
