Any ideas on why my passenger door won't open ? It was always temperamental but now just won't open atol from the inside or the outside. Will lock and unlock with the door pin going up and down but that's all. TIA

I would think the catch mechanism that houses the door handle opening bars has collapsed with the catch engaged meaning it's keeping the door shut Lauren. The bars will move as you try the handles but they're no longer connected to the catch. I can't think of any way to release it other than stripping the interior door card and getting to the mechanism from inside the door frame. Awkward but doable with the door shut.

Maybe put in introduction in the newbies section if you intend on staying around.

Best of luck.

You could try whilst outside the car pushing the door in while pulling up on the door handle.
My drivers door was doing this when I adjusted the strike plate.
It was holding the door in too tight and putting too much pressure on the catch, thus not allowing it to open.

Worth a try

Hi,first try cleaning the catch area in the door with some degreaser then grease the mechanism back up.
All it took to solve my sticking door was a good clean, easy thing to try first

Open the window and lift the door using the arm rest to relieve weight on the lock mechanism whilst operating the catch handle.
Might be easier with 2 people
