Hi all
I am desperately trying to fix my Z4. I need the main airbag control unit which is the one behind the handbrake. I've tried 3 replacement modules, all have been faulty in some way. Has anyone got one, if you have got one that fits the numbers below, PLEASE contact me!

My control module number is 65776935920 - if you have this number that will be perfect! Otherwise any of the following:

Anyone breaking one, please let me know if you have something!

[ref]davewuyts[/ref], just letting you know that if you haven't found anything by the end of June I will then be breaking my silver grey 4-pot.
Can't tell you yet what the numbers are, but let me know if you're still looking.

I have got this one.

I bought it from ebay last month but I didn't need it in the end as I managed to repair the connector on my original.

I have plugged it into the car and it works fine as far as I can tell, all of the electrics worked fine but the airbag light was on. I presume you will need to code it to your vehicle but I don't know too much about that. I'm sure other people on the forum can aid with that.

Anyway, let me know if you are interested. I paid £50 for it on ebay, this was the listing.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166098222320.

I'm happy to get what I paid for it back and I'll cover the postage.

I would just quickly add, if you have tried three of them with no luck, are you sure that it is not something else to blame?

Hi Simon
Thanks for your post. I just sent away two of them for a no fix no fee repair and they both came back as having been water damaged. Where they are mounted in the car is perfect for a cup of coffee or bottle of water to be spilled I think. I have had help from Colin in Newport with checking for other faults, he’s been as puzzled as me.

I have just sourced a local one, through the forum, and I already said yes to it, so I’ll only take yours if that’s no good and you still have it by then. You may of course have sold it. Hopefully if this is ok then I can get on with life!

Out of interest, what was your problem with connections and what codes did they throw up?

Dave

Hi Dave, no problem.. see how you get on.

My problems were random electrical faults and the car battery draining over a few days. My indicators would work but not click, roof would not function, lights on the dashboard would be randomly lit. I bought a C110+ ODB reader, and that showed up codes relating to the SIM airbag module.

The problem with mine was also down to corrosion in the airbag module plug, so that’s why I ordered this one. Although it occurred to me that having a background in micro soldering, I could probably fix my existing one, so that’s what I did, and therefore this one wasn’t needed.

I’m in no massive hurry to get rid of it, it’s just sitting in the garage at the moment so see how you get on and if you need it then let me know, if I don’t hear from you in a few weeks I’ll presume that you are successful and I’ll probably stick it back on eBay.

You need to get the part number of yours and use Realoem to identify compatible modules.
Then you can find one and replace yours.
Need a bit of coding doing too.
Few people about who could help with that.
