Please help me with an intake boot DIY

I currently have a problem with my zed which makes an whistling(high pinched) noise when accelerating.
I have researched about this problem and guess that there might be an issue with an intake boot.
When I have checked an intake boot of my car, it doesn't seem to have any crack on it.
But before I go to a dealer/mechanic, I am planning to replace with new one and see what happens afterwards.
Thus far, I couldn't find any DIY of replacing an intake boot for E85.
Since I am a big chicken about doing mechanic stuff on a car, I really want to see DIY of replacing an intake boot for E85.
If anyone has done this or seen any kind of DIY about this problem, could anyone please help me out?

What age and model is your Zed?

Sounds similar to the noise/problem I had. After the filter and MAF, there's an almost 90degree pipe and mine had split on the bend.

I had to take it off before I could see the split.

Maybe you could get a friend to press the accelarator wen stationary so you can get under the bonnet and try to isolate the sound

The crack will be in the convoluted part of the small extension pipe to the engine. If not then one of the c clips loose or slipped.

No diy needed as it's just a few c clips to undo and reassemble in reverse. Bit fiddly to get all the tubes well seated.
Just put rags in any engine ports as soon as you expose them. Don't want any bits in the engine....

What age and model is your Zed?

my zed is 2003 E85 3.0i.

I changed the same intake boot on mrs smartbears 2.2 z3 which is pretty much the same m54 engine, the most difficult bit was lining up the jubilee clips in the right place so the heads were reachable to tighten them up, they had to be in just the right place or you couldn't get to them!
Fiddly but take your time & it's ok.
