Please help me decide

Iv always had to have “sensible “ cars people carriers etc , and have always dreamed of having a two seater sports car and the z4 is definitely the one for me 👍🏻

to be honest i am much the same. Have a Sportage currently and had other similar as well. Admittedly i am a biker so my fun always came from 2 wheels instead. As i am getting older i fancied fun on 4 wheels as well now.

I had a Focus ST for work which was quite nippy but the build quality and ride was shocking and Iv got a spent knee now so auto it has to be now 👍🏻

Hi everyone, one more question please , I have found a lovely 28i , great spec and I really like it the only thing is it does not have the I drive , is this a game changer or is it something I can do without, thanks as always, appreciate the help

Having had one without i-drive and one with, I would say it is not really worth having TBH. OK, you get a satnav and a few 'adjustments', but the satnav is very old technology and most use maps on their phones these days anyway.

For me its essential as it gives you the opportunity to add a Mr12volt MMI and that is a game changer for the entertainment device as it adds car play etc.

The Mr12volt is one of the best modifications you can add to the e89, I’m also considering fitting one to my Audi.

Yup a Mr12 Volt via the idrive is a great way to bring the car up to date…the other option is to add an Android screen to a non idrive …they all have car play..not quite as well integrated but an option if the ‘best’ car is perfect but idrive is missing..

I’m looking at it the weekend and if it’s a good as it looks i will just use my phone for Waze and then look into getting a mirror display, thanks for the advice

That is very true Iv always used Waze even if I had sat nav
Thank you ,
I have just discovered Apple Carplay and it is great? Why look at a phone screen when you can have it on the idrive and its all voice controlled? WAZE is especially good with Carplay.

That's up to what you require, or would like TBH. Heated seats are desirable when selling (although I don't personally like them as they feel like I have a weak bladder). Parking sensors are VERY useful on an E89 (or any car IMO). A wind deflector is essential IMO if you have the roof down often. They can be bought extra, but are stupid expensive from BMW. Cruise control if you do long journeys, although my wife refuses to use it. :headbang:
Comfort access is great but quite rare on an E89.
Most other things are just bling or bragging rights. The extended light package looks good, as you get funky little lights in the exterior door handles and puddle lights.

I had the TV function in a 440i, which was fab for the first five minutes. It's an option that no-one will ever use again. It doesn't work when the car is moving, and how many people watch TV when stationary in their cars? Certainly not me!

Dipping interior mirror, folding exterior mirrors would be handy if parking on the street, memory drivers seat if your partner is going to use the car as the manual seat is a pita to adjust.
