The holes line up, but due to the wiring for the phone cradle, on my car this is on the left, and on this tray the phone cradle goes on the right.

The cable pops up from under the section this tray sits in and as its on the wrong side, doesn't allow this tray to sit flat.

So if you had the phone bits on the right, or no phone bits, it would fit.

I saw your other post and answered there. You should just remove the console if you really want the cupholders. If you dont want the phone holder the wiring can be tucked down the hole and a rubber mat purchased from BMW to make it a tray.
 
Yeah, dual threads...

Either way, its gonna need the console lifting as there isn't enough room to feed the cable out of the way as the hole its got to go back through is too small (with that white box that can be seen).

Remove the cover behind the arm rest and undo the two bolts, lift the gear stick surround and undo the bolt under there, the whole centre section can then be raised just enough to tuck the phone wires out the way via the square hole in the bottom, put the wires in a small plastic bag or tape them up to stop anything potentially shorting out I did this last week!

Thank-you, that's what I intend to do now that I know how to remove the centre console.
