Please consider adding a "General Z4 Chat" section

I might be going blind but I can't see one - think it could be a good section for all Z4 owners to take part in more general discussions.

Example threads:

- Did you do any advanced driving courses to prepare yourself for a Z4/RWD car?
- I have a budget of £XXXXX - seen any good Z4's in that price range?
- What do you love/hate about your Z4?

etc

'The Lounge' covers all that, if you wanted it to.
From experience, it doesn't really matter where you 'put' threads, they will be read by most. I am sure most regulars click on 'new posts' when they log in, so everything is visible. :?

Close, but once I've cleared everything I then just click on 'Unread posts' every time.

OK; different route to the same thing IMO. But it doesn't matter which 'section' the threads are in, does it? You can see them all.

For someone who has only posted 49 times and has been on here for over 5 years you’ve become a bit demanding all of a sudden

Like Pondrew I also head to New Posts when I login, so see them whatever section they are in.

Reckon he's prepping for an acrimonious divorce.

Like Pondrew and Mr Tidy, I too head for the new post section and as flyboy said go to the lounge for all non zed related discussions

I’d rather a button that takes me straight to the daily pond; so I can get my daily dose of pondrew content

Excellent idea. Can we make it an MG badge?

I'm guessing a sleeper troll. Creates account, lets it lie dormant, then years later creates topics they hope will become divisive.

Does this make Pondy a wide awake and extremely effective troll.

How is asking the admin to consider a suggestion, 'demanding'?

Or maybe this is more about me politely declining your offer to buy your 2006 zed with over 80k miles for £8k...

I use 'new posts' as my landing page as a preview for what's going on day to day when (and I know its been a while of late) I logon to catch up. If I want information I use the search bar.

My guess is that non members or infrequent users go from home page to a specific section - its just a way to keep the site tidy more than search it. Reading about what could go wrong (has done for someone else) in a specific section is like googling medical symptoms and then realising how ill you are.

Not at all, you enquired about buying a Z4 and I offered mine as i might sell it at some stage. Mine happens to be a very very nice one with 81k on the clock and you turned it down as it was nearly on 100k miles. 81 is not nearly 100 but that’s ok it will sell when I decide to sell it. What I didn’t realise at the time was that you are probably just a time waster that doesn’t have any intention of buying a Zed, as you are creating one thread after another asking about this and that and suggesting different ways in which to improve this Forum. Some might think this is ok but when I log on to the Forum posts from people like you bore the s**t out of me and I was wondering why all of a sudden after many years you are suddenly posting. You not wanting to buy my car has nothing to do with it, I accepted your decision and suggested perhaps if your budget was lower than what I think my car is worth you should look at a 3.0se. Feel free to post some pics of your Zed when you finally get one whether it be a 23i or maybe a 35i or even a 2.0se to a full fat M car.

Ok mate, just sounds a bit like sour grapes.

I doubt I'm the only person who has considered buying a zed then decided against it only to reconsider a few years later. Nothing unusual about that and nothing unusual about new members suggesting things that they feel might help the community.

No demands were made. All suggestions were polite and merely asked the admin to consider them. Taking offence at that really is a bit odd tbh. If you don't like or agree with a suggestion just say why you don't like or agree to it - there's no need to make completely off-topic and juvenile personal remarks.

Definitely a case of practice makes perfect. :D

Like most members I go straight to ‘new posts’. As others have said ‘the lounge’ covers general chit chat. I’m not sure what worthwhile gain there would be by adding another section.
