Plateless front bumper?

Does anyone know if its possible to remove the front number plate (with all fixings) and insert blanking plates where the mounting parts were? Obviously this is one mod that's only good until you get asked to put it back on (!) but it would look very cool without if only for some photos.. ?

Yes - you can easily remove it. Take off the number plate first and the backing plate will be held on by 2 or 4 self tapping screws (if you're unlucky the dealer will have used bolts, but they are lazy ansd use screwes). That's it.

Removed then all you'll be left with is a flat bumper cover with some screw holes in. It will need a wipe down, polish and wax.

If it were just to take some photos I'm sure you could dream up some small plugs to conceal them until you put the plate back.

I think the plan is to put the plates back on once he has been stopped by the police which nowadays is becoming quite rare ...

Ah well I'll just address the technical aspect of doing it. The rest well - good luck

I removed the front number plate mount/bracket as it makes the front end look much smoother. The number plate is now fixed on with some plastic screws from halfords and must say it looks much better.
