Plastic pop rivets

Hey all
Before I remove the plastic pop rivets that hold the rear bumper onto arches can you replace use them? I'm guessing you can pop the centre pin through the middle.

Edited to delete my reply so as not to confuse people. I assumed BMW used the same fixings for front and rear bumpers, but apparently they don't! :?

If you need more, halfords sell them, just take an old one with you for sizing.

BMW dealers have them for around 19 pence each

So they should push through right? Not as easy as I thought that's for sure.

The rear bumper/inner wing ones pull out. Definitely don't push those through. Use a fork or similar shaped object to remove them.

Failing that, use some pliers, but be prepared to buy more as the head will distort. Not a big deal as they're really cheap.

The front bumper ones are the push through type.

Ok great 6 rivets removed and 2 bolts and 3 screws underneath , how does it come off ?

The bumper? It should just unclip from the side mounts and then pull it off.

I'll keep trying and report back, it's the left side mount I'm trying to replace as it's snapped

If it’s like the front you have to push/pull the bumper down a little to allow the moulded plastic locating lugs on the bumper itself to release and then pull the top of the bumper outwards. All gently but firmly. Disclaimer - I’ve never taken a rear bumper off.
