Have seen others do it, but wanted to keep the grey centre, rather than look like a 2.0L!

Opposite to what I did but it looks neat does that.

Thanks, I just thought the spattering of chrome on the front looked a bit of an afterthought with the grey grilles.

I do like that, not as harsh as fully black , quite subtle.
Does the chrome split off the grill easily?
Then you just spray with plastidip?

That looks great. I've been toying with this idea for ages and I'm sold.
I agree the only bit of chrome on the car looks out of place.
 
Remove the grilles, they just pop out and separate the two pieces, they are just clipped together.

I washed them, wiped with panel wipe and spayed 4 or 5 coats over. It will peel off easily if you want to go back to chrome, I peeled one and did it again as wasn't happy with finish.

Wow - going by your thread heading I am just pleased that your kidneys are OK! (Whatever state they are on your Z4)! :D
