Plasti Dip lower front bumper?

I’ve been thinking about painting (plasti dip) the lower part of the front bumper in black. If I do it I will use plasti dip so it can be reverted back to original easily.

Has anyone painted/plasti dip this part of the bumper and do you have any photos if so? What’s the general opinion..

I’ve attached two photos, one the area I would paint and one other of a car a saw on google.

Several members have done this (I think Mr Wilks went that route on one of his Si's). Not a big fan TBH, looks sort of toothless/gummy if you know what I mean.

I've seen it done and look good on an M bumper, never seen it on the facelift. Not too sure what to think of it, looks a bit like there's something missing, like a front splitter or something. I think a splitter would balance it out more and it could look ok.

I was thinking the same with the splitter. I want to keep it looking original as possible, but slightly more aggressive at the front. Might be worth trying, it can easily be removed.

I’m just not sure it looks right as well.

I’d love it to look like that, great looking coupe. That’s the idea I’ve got, just the centre section. The splitter does help

Totally different bumpers though :? M as opposed to Si

That does look good and with it being the same colour as mine it’s made me like it even more.

I have my old facelift bumper with a splitter attached. I didn't like it at the time because I painted it body coloured, but painted black it would look ok I reckon.

I agree, with yours being blue the black would have looked great against it.

However the ‘m’ bumper is even better :thumbsup:

///M spec or Si spec , both these cars were sold through the same years so the " facelift " would only compare with pre facelift or Se bumper :thumbsup:

erm........ not quite sure what the issue is here I think it's quite obvious I was pointing to the theme of a black centre piece with a black front splitter. The model is really quite irrelevent in the grand scheme of things. I'm not here to compare and debate models / years etc. etc. etc. The initial point was enough on it's own and I'm pretty sure he got the gist, you obviously didn't which is fine. No dramas :thumbsup:

I think doing it similar to this, but a facelift version obviously;

looks good, but don't plastidip it. It'll chip and peel within days
