Planning to start a Z4 Project - A few q's

Im having a little look around sites now...

Only thing im stuck on is I don't know what kind of spec I should be looking for?
I would like leather seats, CD Player, Aircon, etc... But what else is there which would be nice to have?

First one states 17" alloys but shows ellipsoids which are 18" :?

Last one, driver's seat looks tatty but can be expected on a car of that age I suppose. You need to look at them in the flesh really and test drive them.

It's higher than most people on here expect from what is often not such an intesive daily drive car, however not high for a quality 6 cylinder engined car these days. Zed should be good for 200k to 300k.

There's a thread somewhere with loads well into the 100's
 
Is a Z4M rear bumper the same on the coupe and roadster?
Found a coupe z4m rear bumper so just want to check it is the same as the z4m roadster one and that ti will fit

The M Coupe and M Roadster rear bumers are the same.
 
cj10jeeper, I have every confidence in the M54 engine, but...

* resale is very difficult in comparision to say a 3 series with the same miles.
* There are other parts other then the engine... roof motor, sensors, suspension parts, etc...

No offence and I hope I'm wrong here, but someone looking at such examples with high mileage is on a tight budget and IMO generally would find it hard to dish out for such repairs.
If I were OP I would reduce the modding budget and get a better example Zed.
 
Yeah I agree 70k is too much, considering maintenance costs at that kind of mileage.
Fortunately I have found various examples with 40-50k for around £8-8500.

Peddy - I take you point. Resale is lower and of course purchase price is lower. As with anything the lowest mileage and lowest age is ofthen the best, but on closer inspection some high miles of motorway use are much better than low mileage poorly maintained. It is also a potentily cheaper entry to the market.

My point related to BMW is that they are capable of huge mileage and while we often on forums expect low mileage on this type of car they will run forever, compared to say a Ka that woudld be a shed at 80k. iirc there are several US members with over 150,000 on the clock. I took one of them with 120k on the clock fast through hills in California and it felt brand new and had never had any major copoments changed...

Roof motors, sensors, etc don't wear out over miles, rather time and condition.
