Driving a 116i at the moment, but thought it was a bit small (back seat leg room and boot) so went to the dealers to have a look at the new 3 series and possibly a 5 series GT. After going round in both, on a whim asked if I could try a Z4. I've always liked the Z series and I thought with the last model change (e89) they got it bang on. Well, long story short fell in love, but was gutted when I found out the one in the parking lot (pre-approved white with red leather) had been sold :(

So the dealer had a look around, but nothing was available, so I told him that I was probably going to leave it, give me a ring if anything white pops up. He then found a white with red leather one that was just rolling off the factory floor, delivery estimate end of October. I yet to work out whether this is a good idea, and am terrified of the boot space, but its been keeping me up the last two nights in excitement :D

Roll on October! :driving:

The boot isn't bad, but if you need to carry anything large, get a second car, have use of a second car, get a deal with a courier, or don't get the Z. In over 3 years of owning my e89, only once have I not been able to carry something (A five burner BBQ that required the use of a small van!).

Hi, welcome. Its very exciting!
Like Maniac says, no issues with the boot. I think its really spacious considering.

Hi and welcome.

So, let's get this straight you wanted more boot space and leg room in the rear than a 1 series and you went for a ..... Z4 - excellent choice, you will not be disappointed - enjoy! :driving:

I was thinking the same thing

The 1er back seats are non existent so except for small children you can do without... But the Z's boot would be less then half the size, less with the roof down!

But then again... With the roof down + no passenger you can fit as much as you imagination will let you!
