Pitted windscreen

Hello again,

I noticed that my windscreen has quite a few pit marks in it from 18 years of road use.

Is there any products that can help reducing the pitting? You can see the wipers getting nipped at by the pits and they won't last long!

Thanks

MIne had pitting and score marks all over it when I bought it. The score marks were in line with the travel of the wipers so some nitwit had obviously not been changing the wipers as frequently as they should and ended up just grinding contaminant into the screen.
I used wire wool to 'polish' the glass and it helped but didn't exactly cure the issue. I only really ever notice it in low, bright sunlight however, which doesn't seem to occur so often.
Short of a new screen I doubt there's much else you can do. Would be nice if there was some form of filler for micro-pits like the stuff you can get for chips.

Yes, shame it can't seemingly be easily repaired. It's also got a stone chip in but don't think it would be classed as impairing vision so would likely be a repair rather than a replace

I used some glass polish and a DA but only slightly better. Short of accidently cracking the screen not much to do unfortunately.

Get a new one under insurance.

I used Cerium Oxide on a windscreen, it got the windscreenwiper marks out and some small scratches but it was very hard work for not a 100% result.

I have also used Cerium Oxide but as stated by pvr it`s a lot of work and you have to be careful the glass doesn`t get too hot .
