Pistonheads

Except that Hammond compared the ///MR to a hot chili not the ///MC the coupe never won any TG road tests. :poke:

I wish the press would stop telling everyone about these - if they get too popular I'm never going to be able to afford one.

And after driving one for sale near me (12 miles without a salesman) on behalf of another forum member I know I want one!

Just do it Mr T, you only live once. :driving: :D

Lets be honest with the experience these cars provide and the limited volume available its only a question of when not if from a price appreciation perspective - it might take a while longer but when it does go if your not already on board you'll regret it.

I had already made that mistake with the classic SAAB 900 so there was no way I was going to fall foul of it again and pushed the button on the Z4M purchase last year - I never looked at the purchase as an investmemt I just wanted to make sure I could buy in to the experience before it became cost prohibitive.

Got to be honest I don't regret it for a minute and it feels much more comfortable being on the inside looking out rather than the outside looking to get in - not to mention more enjoyable.

If everybody who owns or has owned or driven one says its the right thing to do then it probably is and if you have the ability but don't act on it the only outcome will be regret.

If in doubt do it - always better to say you did rather than say you just thought about it

Nicely put - I've had far more regrets about things I didn't do than things I did!

And thanks to buzyg for trying to lead me astray.

Thanks Ed.

I've already driven 2, so have a good idea of what I am missing!

I'm not being held back by a lack of desire, just budget concerns now I am a pensioner.

A wise man once said "you can sleep in your car but you can't race your house"

Nah I totally get it - the si is 90% the car for far more sensible purchase and running costs - if I were being truly sensible I'd have kept my si....!

See people say that on paper but having gone from the 3.0si to Z4M and driving the two back to back for some time during the changeover period, I found that they couldn't be more different. A friend put it most succinctly: driving the Z4M is closer to driving an M3 than it is the Z4 3.0si.

To be honest it's simple if you can afford the Z4M push the button - at the price there is nothing close to the experience.
