Pistonhead show car

Some of you might be aware that there is a Pistonheads show in Jan at the NEC. They were asking for cars to display so i sent in some pictures. Didnt really think about it but just got an email today saying that my car has been chosen to be one of the 150 on show from Wednesday to Sunday.
Mmm should i? We get a full detail from Zymol. What you think.... :?

Its just a static display right? Assuming you can be without it for a few days, a free detail etc seems a good deal to me. The access to the NEC halls is so massive, nothing to scrape past or anything, and vehicles are not allowed fuel in them inside so nobody will drive it anywhere. Are you allowed to drive it into the hall yourself? I don't see anything for you to worry about. Also when I have done exhibitions there you have to have liability insurance for the event, so I would assume Pistonheads would cover it anyway.

I'm the complete opposite - I wouldn't want tens of thousands of people pawing at my baby, chavs drooling on the glass, etc. Will it be kept locked or open?

It'll need a good Zymol-ing by the time the event is over

Sorry to be negative, just my personal opinion.

My car is being displayed at the PH show, so I'll see you there.

Personally I don't have any problems with it being on display. I understand that there will be security during the day and night watching the cars, and a free Zymol detail can't be bad.. (so long as the person doing it knows what they're doing!)

Scottie, is yours a Coupe? Mine's been accepted but as its boggo standard it may look a bit tame next to Sixspeeds example. Talking of which, anyone know of a decent wheel refurbisher in the Surrey area?

Yeh mine is a coupe. Bog standard M as well. I guess it will be a case of before and after.... Shame we wont be able to hear Sixspeeds bet it sounds better than in the vids!!

Gids, the show is on from the 11th to 13th Jan and runs alongside the autosport show. will be going even if i dont have my car on show.

Just phoned my insurance (Adrian Flux) who are checking the situation out and getting back to me tomorrow.

Do you think our car will be left open for people to sit in etc? If that is the case then there is no chance of me handing it over. What other questions have you all asked?

The cars will be roped off so no chance of spotty chavs getting near them, however, my insurance company are kicking up slightly as they need clarification on the organisers position regarding liability. The cars will be moved by Zymol on to the stand once they have been detailed so in effect (although little chance) the car could be uninsured which is a question that remains unanswered by Pistonheads.
