Hi all,

I noted when I bought the car that this part was broken. It's only a small rivet that has failed between the pipe holder and the engine cover clip but unsure how to re secure it?

The part - a clip that hols a pipe;

And the location - you can see the shiny rivet in the centre;

Any thoughts?

Found the part number/name. Shut off valve bracket. 11617836603. Perhaps BMW for a new part!!

Dude, its just the bracket that holds the sucking air valve for the brake booster, it's no big deal, I certainly wouldn't waste you money on a new one. It's the pop rivet that will have broken not the whole bracket, just use a thin cable tie for a couple of penny's and attach it to the intake manifold that way, much cheaper, and will do the same job!

Oops, I thought this might be Bing posting!

But at least Z4 Forum can solve these issues!

You should have talked to the car owner for this issue first.

I am the owner. The seller was a classic car specialist and it was quite clear it was fixable... But thanks for the rather interesting input...

Mr Beech, thanks chap but would rather fix it permanently. Speaking to Harry Fairbairn, it's a £6 part! Ordered and resolved!
