Pin hole in ignition barrel?

Hi all -as above -anyone else have one?-mine is just above where you put the key in,been meaning to ask for a while now,worried mine may have had work done?-thanks

It's the glory hole for the very small leprechaun that lives in your car - if something goes wrong, the very first thing you do is tap gently on the cowling and pleasure him when he presents his pride and joy. He's not BMW trained because he's Irish-American and a vagrant, but he'll do odd jobs for 'favours'

Just checked mine - I appear to have one too, though looks like a half circle on mine because it is right on the edge of the barrel, located in the top right quarter. That like yours ? I have never noticed it before - you look REALLY hard at your car Andy :x

Could it be like the pin hole on CD trays on PCs, so is used to pop the barrel out if needs be ?

He's really, really myopic and couldn't get the key in the ignition... you should see how he drives

Sorry guys-at first i thought it was a bit of dirt,Bing you have made me feel better knowing you also have a glory hole -could it be for removal?

Dunno- get a paper clip, unbend it and stick it in the hole. If you hear a squeal then it's a leprechaun, if it pops out you can do a how-to on putting it back together

is it not something to do with if you loose the keys and need to change the barrell?
