Pilots at Costco

I know there are fans of the Michelin Pilot SP2 on the forum.

If anyone's interested Costco will be running one of their 20% offers starting November

255/35 18Y XL £225.38 and 225/40 18 Y XL £149.48

If you buy 4 tyres (can be on multiple visits) they will offer 20% off

Works out to £599 inc VAT supplied, fitted, balance and nitrogen filled.

How can I go about purchasing it? Isn't Costco a wholeseller and/or require some sort of membership?

You'll need to be a member. Membership used to be restricted to a degree, but I think it's quite open now.

Those prices will be for non-runflats, but they do also sell the ZP's (at a slight premium over the non-ZP's).

You won't find cheaper than Costco for Michelins - they're the country's biggest purchaser

PS2s in the 225/40/18 size come in 88 (Porsche), 88 (ZP), 92 (Mercedes) and 92 (reinforced) load ratings.
The 255/35/18 come in a 90 (ZP) and 94 (reinforced) load ratings.

Don't forget that the XL/reinforced versions have stiffer sidewalls than the non-XL/reinforced versions.
Don't complain if you notice more crashy and/or understeery handling - although if you've come from runflats it won't be an issue :P

Don't think I would ever trust a Costco monkey with my wheels though. I would consider buying the tyres by itself though.

Well, I priced up a full set of PS2 ZP's for my 107's recently and Costco were actually more expensive than Blackcircles; approximately £940 versus £900. Naturally that was prior to the 20% discount offer.

Ah, well, I've never bought tyres from Costco unless there was a 20-25% discount on anyway - which made them about 15% cheaper than anywhere else

Although that was for 4 x 245/40z18 tyres on the M5.

Yes - non RFT's.
They can price up others if needed but I just asked while in there as I run RFT's.
Individual Costco membership is opne for about £25/annum - worth it for any single purchase
Tyre bay looked a lot better than any Kwik fit fitters oil bath I've seen so would give them a go.
Of course 20% off makes it a deal, without probably not

Real interesting that you can buy 4 tyres of any size for any car and come back to have them fitted on anything at any time - if that makes sense. So you could get a pair of rears for the Zed and a pair of others for the family run around, store them in the garage 6 months until needed and then fit - neat idea.

I would buy a full set at that price if they are run-flat. A set of run-flat for 108s will cost near £1k.
