I am looking to have my wheels refurbished and I am tempted to go for a shadow chrome / grey finish rather than the standard silver.

Has anybody got any pictures of a black E89 on 19” rims that are not the standard silver. If so could you kindly post them here and let me know what the paint colour is called.

Thank you very much Mr Bear. They do look amazing, and I love the shadow chrome look. I just wonder if it will be too much on a black car?

Just bear in mind that shadow chrome can deviate a little in shade, as it’s essentially black with a silver spray... and the amount they spray on can make a diff.

I have a black car and I wouldn't put shadow chrome or black wheels on. As you say just a little bit too much and not much contrast. I would stick to silver or if I really wanted to go bold and was brave enough, perhaps some gold or some other suitably coloured wheels. Only exception to black or dark grey wheels on a black car is if the face of the wheel is polished and just the inserts are in grey / shadow chrome or black. Something like this:



Looks are very subjective though, so this is just my opinion.
