Pictures of suede or alacantra covered Z4 dash?

I think my interior is superb, I'm just not happy about the pitted plastic - it always gets marked just by touching it so its never black all round.. and cleaning it seems so difficult for some reason - has anyone else on here covered it with suede or alacantra, etc. and have any pictures of this?

Agreed. However try cleaning with black bumper polish (not the spray)...you need a tonne of it but shines the trim like nothing else! :D

Isn't that bad thing, seeing as it's supposed to be a matt finish?

Not sure I like the sound of a suede/alcantra dash - although I know where you're coming from.

Best thing I've found - which is non-shiney - is Poorboys Natural Look Dressing. Absolutely superb at bringing the dash back up to standard, and mine seems to resist marking as much since I've used it. Needs to be applied with a decent microfibre cloth though because of the rough nature of the dash (do NOT use kitchen roll or a yellow duster, seriously!)

Alacantra could work, but I think it would need to be as part of a theme - i.e. alacantra wheel, gear knob, maybe the centre of the seats etc - works in my mind as a semi-stripped out cabin approach a la 911 GT3...

I like what they've done with the alcantara, wonder how much that would cost - although I'd do it without the yellow inserts

It would cost big money for the material and you would need a very special upholsterer to even attempt the project. There are definite drawbacks beyond those I mentioned, plus: I am not aware of a protectant (like the plastic that coats leather) that would keep it safe from UVA/UVB rays and you would never redeem your cost.

I not only don't care for the inserts and I would much prefer the M tricolor scheme.
