Can someone point me in the right direction for pictures of the cars side by side, highlighting the differences ? I have read about them, but need the visuals to really make sense of it all.

Externally the only real differences are front bumper shape and clear headlights, Rear minor bumper profile differences and different rear lights.

under the skin lots of changes such a engine and gearbox.

Here's an interesting read:

I find the difference very noticeable ... I think the pre-facelift models look noticeably tired ... maybe because they are that bit older ... or maybe it's just a fashion thing ... or maybe because I am just attuned to picking the differences.

When i first got mine i preferred the look of the prefacelift lights with clear spots over the facelift rears.

But now i do think the facelift lights look much better and more modern... Especially when lit up.

Thanks for the info... regarding the rear - don't think that will bother me, I don't often look at my own behind

The ginger has to be the worst thing about standard pre-facelift. If I see one, it's hard not to focus on the side repeaters!

You say that but I have removed clear repeaters and.rear lights and replaced them with oem coloured.

Wanting a modern looking car is a bit blingy imo

I guess I look at the black ones more as that's the colour of mine. The contrast just doesn't work for me whereas the red and black work well, parts of my interior are also red.

Cue shameless posting of my interior :P

Thanks :) The only thing I'd like to fix inside is the driver's door pull. I suspect the previous owner used to open the door with keys in same hand. Bits of silver coating have been scraped off. Or it was a girl with long nails.

A nice weighted ZHP //M gear knob would also finish it off nicely both aesthetically & to drive
